Testimonials

Susie coached me on relationships with my mother, wife, staff and on line management. I gained confidence; becoming the real me and be more assertive. I developed a more pro-active approach to managing work and colleagues.

I was able to cultivate an adult-to-adult relationship with a demanding, difficult and offensive elderly mother; take possession of more ‘space’ at home and develop a better decision making role and re-evaluating childhood issues.

Susie’s interest in her clients is genuine and it is rewarding to speak to someone who is attentive. She interprets accurately and sensitively and clearly enjoys her work. She questions and challenges and makes one think and work positively. I would recommend her.

Simon Bradburn, Support Services Manager

I came to Susie for coaching on management and would highly recommend her. I became more aware of how I came come across and learnt to let go of things – always aiming to strike the right balance. I found Susie very easy to talk to and down to earth.

Emma Allwright, Care Records Manager

Susie’s coaching enabled me to bring long term goals into real goals rather than pie in the sky. We focussed on health and the importance to my family, this helped me to change my thought processes to I can and not just carry on with the same excuses. It was really beneficial and she was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend her.

Sarah Wiles, Payroll Co-ordinator

After many years of working in the finance industry I found myself in a situation where after a successful career, working my way through the ranks, I had become “successfully bored”, not knowing what path in life to take next. My wife suggested I try a coach and I reluctantly agreed, being doubtful of the value.  I carried out a great deal of research before contacting Susie as I wanted to work with someone who had experienced real life with its ups and downs prior to becoming a coach.  I wasn’t sure what to expect from the sessions, but immediately found Susie to be someone who was very easy to talk to and trustworthy. She has demonstrated a great skill in being able to decompose aspects of my life and disaggregate my goals into smaller manageable tasks, so rather than trying to focus on everything at once, the sessions concentrate on one particular milestone. I come away from every session enthusiastic with a better understanding of how to achieve what it is I’m after.  The sessions with Susie have not only helped me in my personal development at home but have had the positive side-effect of helping me at work, especially around staff motivation and retention.  I would certainly recommend Susie to anyone looking for guidance, as the results for me have been very tangible.

‘Coaching has supported me to achieve what I am after at home and in work.’

We all need to regularly check ourselves for physical signs of dis-ease, don’t we? You know the sort of thing, Body Mass Index, lumps and bumps in various places, moles and marks on our skin. What do we do when we discover any of the above? The best practice is to take a trip to the GP. Why? To chat it through, to find out if there is anything to worry about. Then, if further investigation is needed we are…

Fake it until you make it…?

Fake it until you make it. So you have done it. Your feet are under the desk. They believed everything and yet you still feel like a fraud somewhere deep within. Many people in positions of authority do not allow anyone near enough to let them really ‘see’ them. It’s a risk, after all they may doubt you, and they may start to give you those funny looks that ask the question; ‘Is she/he for real?’ You know that thing…

Authenticity versus fake news.

In this age of the drive for the perfect public face, how can we be authentic as we live? How do we not become our own fake news? Is it perfection that draws others to us, or does it drive them resolutely away? To be able to identify with someone else, we must, I believe, be able to see something in the other that resounds with us, a kind of mirror image. So if we are honest, not just about…

About Susie Flashman Jarvis

One part of blogging is to write about myself. That in itself is a challenge, not because I don’t know myself but rather, I need to think about what I want you to know.

As a coach or a therapist the general rule of thumb is, don’t disclose things about yourself unless it is useful for the client. However, I believe in congruence and I believe that someone is more likely to be themselves if they experience authenticity in another.
